The Lyrid meteors, seen the past couple of nights, are following in the orbit of Comet Thatcher, which swung past us in 1861 and is not expected to return until around the year 2276.

these are fantastic pictures. even without the meteor streaks. scorpio is clear as a bell and the milky way is very nicely defined.
and then there’s that tree.
